Hemlock Child of Elahrairah Adopt

I know I should have been working on commissions but as most of my watchers know, I am quite sick. I hope to get well soon but for now I feel like crap AND I am beginning to get weighted down with university homework.. yay (not). You may also notice that I closed my custom lion point commissions because right now I don't feel they are worth my time for what I am charging for them. Altering the lineart takes longer than I originally thought as I try to make each lion look unique for my commissioner. They won't be opening up for a while either (so please don't ask). I will get all my commissions hopefully caught up soon as they are stressing me out a little knowing that I need to get them out to my watchers in a timely manner on top of school work and wanting to draw my comic pages. It's a lot to handle and really I just want to focus on school work and my comics anyways, so I may keep the custom lion characters closed forever. Who know ^^' so ya, no new comic pages until commissions are at least half caught up (I know, it is sad for me too). On the other hand I felt like poop and decided to apply for a role play group for this specific character. I really hope I win him as I want to try out for a doe too if I have the time. It seems things are getting really busy.. for now it's bed time. I need some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

-Character Nature: Hemlock is a very cunning buck that prefers to use his head and crazy tricks rather than stand and fight an enemy head on. He seems to be gentle, empathetic to others as well as the situations that their warren faces and enjoys seeing everyone as equal until proven otherwise. He enjoys telling jokes but can be a bit bashful at times as well as clusty when trying to impress the younger does around him.
-Character Biography: Being born onto the Down and living alongside his parents, Hemlock has never known what it was actually like to live elsewhere but was curious at times to know the feeling of “other places” in this “big world”. He was only little when these desires started to overwhelm his thoughts but knew it was something that was only a dream aggravated by the stories told about how the great Hazal-rah had saved their warren years ago. However, having high curiosity for adventure it started to get him into trouble as his childhood years grew quickly past him and he became a young adolescent with a longer, leaner body as well as surprisingly extended thinner back legs. In no time Hemlock was sneaking off away from the warren and secretly following the “runners” who were used as a reporting system to create a barrier of safety for all the rabbits. Hemlock quickly learned that due to his long back legs he could easily run just as quick as the other “actual” runners of the warren who would report back to the famous Bigwig with any abnormalities on the down. Thus, he began secretly following behind some of the real runners of the warren each day, using his cunning skills to hide when they suspected a follower. One thing that Hemlock realized after following the runners was that it actually fulfilled a void he carried inside him around wanting adventure from learning new techniques around being quick, unheard and not running straight back to the warren in order to confuse elil. Being a runner was similar to seeing the large world they lived in as the runners would often venture further around on the down than any of the other rabbits without major roles; looking for danger of course.

One day though Hemlock was leaving early in the morning dew, ready to follow one of his favorite most admired rabbits; Dandelion. Of course he had never tried to follow Dandelion due to him being one of the quickest rabbits throughout the whole warren with amazing maneuvering skills. Dandelion was an idle all on his own for story telling but also ranked as an amazing runner that Hemlock viewed with great pride.

Sitting sniffing the air gently, Hemlock was dreaming into the morning sunrise, feeling the dew from the grass soak into his fur.

“Hemlock ole chap? Mind if I, er, have a word with ya?”

Snapping out of his trance Hemlock gasped; mouth open. Dandelion was sitting on his back legs in front of him, his thin body towering high.

“Da-Dandelion.” Hemlock stuttered.

“Yes, that’s me. Right, now don’t try ta act like you don’t know and that I don’t know fur we both know what you’ve been up to for quite some time”

Sitting frozen, ears erect, Hemlock waited in silence. Dandelion finally continued, “You’d think an elil got yer tongue er something. What I mean’t ta say is how impressed I’ve been of yer runnin’ skills. Not every lad is born with such hind legs. Quit lookin’ so bob-stone struck an let’s go. I feel like you’ve got some potential an if that’s true we may have ta speak to the Chief ta see if they need a new Junior Runner.”

Eyes larger now, Hemlock just stared; almost as if he was glancing through Dandelion. Finally he said, “You mean, th-this whole time you’ve been a watchin’ me?”

Chuckling Dandelion said, “Well yer younger ya see an often young bucks feel like they are just as cunning as the real runners but they always ferget one thing: masking their scent.”

Dropping his ears from embarrassment Hemlock made a nervous chuckle, “Well, I suppose you are right. If you really wanna know, I’ve been really wanting to learn how Runners ACTUALLY contribute to the warren. I do wanna be one someday but I feel I have a long ways to go, plus I’d have to consult with the chief in order to get ranked…”

Swatting him gently on his shoulder Dandelion smiled, “Don’t worry about those things right now. Yous just come with me today and I can start you out with ta basics”

With that Dandelion worked with Hemlock at times on and off whenever he had some spare time. Often other runners would be the ones giving Hemlock advice and take him under their wing for training. It wasn’t long before Hemlock was into his later adolescence that the chief rabbit finally seen his potential and ranked him into the runners.

Once a runner Hemlock had the ability to mask his scent/tracks when need be, run faster than he ever had due to training and use his thoughts to get him out of bad situations. One thing was for sure though; he was very grateful to have had Dandelion notice him sneaking away from the warren. It was that morning of talking to his idle that he will never forget, the morning where he started on his journey in order to finally bring his rank up at such a young age.
